    this is pretty much impossible for software to do alone... but USB-c is be designed to solve this problem so that you can charge other devices with your USB-c cable

    I don't believe the Iphone allows for power to be output from the dock connector to power other devices, and if it does, I'm sure it doesn't output 5V, 500mA, or 1A, either of the 2 popular output currents that would charge another iDevice. It would be a novel idea, but I don't believe it would be possible as the devices were not designed for it. In future iphones/ipods, it could be a possibility, but it would need to be something that was planned for.

    Huawei has that option with Mate2. You can charge other smartphones with it. It's not impossible, it will only be hard.

    This can't be done via app, it would require special hardware, eg. USB host like the USB-Ports of notebooks.
