Do you have tens of thousands of tasks to do and sometimes miss some deadlines? Have you ever set two important events at the same time and had to miss one? With calendar apps, you can avoid these problems easily.

Apple’s native calendar app works well. With Siri’s help, you can even set up an event without opening the app in 3 Siri Tricks to Make Your Life Easier. However, everyone has a different workflow and needs. If you are looking for some well-designed calendars more than just event entry, this list of top premium iOS calendar apps will help you find your favorite one.

1. Fantastical 2

  • Price: $4.99
  • Device Support: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple Watch
  • Language Support: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish

With nearly 4,000 reviews, Fantastical 2 is a 5-star iOS calendar app! Though there are a lot of new productive apps coming out everyday, Fantastical is still considered to be one of the best calendar apps. It’s always updated to have bugs fixed and to add new features. It’s not only a calendar, but is also integrated with reminders. You can also save drafts with the latest version: while adding a new event or reminder, swipe down on the red header and it will save as a draft! If you add the locations to the events, it will also provide a map with an address. You can also open locations in Google Maps! My favorite feature of Fantastical is its’ great support of natural language input, which makes setting up an event much easier. I wish I could use it in more languages.

Fantastical will do all the things the native calendar app will do. Maybe you cannot ask Siri to add an event for you. But whenever Siri adds your appointment to the native app, Fantastical will pick it up right away.

As the 2015 App Design Award Winner, it also provides pretty layouts and easy-navigations. To make your calendar clear, Fantastical sets split lists where you see the month and your list of appointments on a single screen.

Maybe you’re hesitant at the beginning about the high price tag, just as I was. However, after using the app for a while, you’ll notice that it truly deserves the price. So check it out for yourself and see what the hype is all about.

2. iCalendar

  • Developer: Symfonies, Inc.iCalendar logo
  • Price: $2.99+in-app purchases
  • Device Support: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Apple Watch
  • Language Support: English

As a visual person, I really appreciate iCalendar’s design. It’s as pretty as my Moleskine planner. Of course, the most attractive feature of this app is its’ custom color-code system for events. Tracking schedules has never be easier! You can use predefined colors, or make up your own color. Navigating through the app is easy and quick as well. You can also search events by title, location, and notes. To update the timing an event, you only need to drag and drop it! iCalendar integrates really well with other apps and services: you can link it with your iCloud, Google, Exchange, Outlook, or Yahoo accounts. There is also a quick editing option by tapping and holding an event. Export any view as you like (day, week, month, year) as a PDF file or just print them out!

The Time Zone Support of iCalendar is excellent. Sometimes we’ll get confused when we travel, or when we contact with people in other time zones. But with calendar, you can view and create your events in your preferred time zone.

But it won’t update automatically if you add an event with Siri to the native app. In addition, if you need more features, such as iOS Reminders, Moon Phases calendars, US holiday calendar, or another special calendars, you need to pay $ 0.99 – $1.99 as in-app purchases.

3. Calendate – Most Stylish Calendar

  • Developer: Jitkem Tienngamcalendate logo
  • Price: $1.99
  • Device Support: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
  • Language Support: English

Same as iCalendar, Calendate is also attractive because of its beautiful design. You can even enhance your planning by choosing from 24 personalized icons and 10 themes! It’s also very convenient to share your events with friends via email or message. You can also connect it with your Facebook to publish events to your Facebook profile or remind you of your friends’ birthdays. If you’re someone who can never remember any birthdays, just like me, you will love this feature! What’s more, it provides you with public holidays for about 30 countries (but you only have very limited language options).

But its’ weather feature doesn’t work very well. Sometimes the temperature can be dramatically different from the native weather app, which may make you confused.

4. Easy Calendar

  • Developer: By T. van Zummereneasy calendar logo
  • Price: $1.99
  • Device Support: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
  • Language Support: English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish

As its’ name refers, Easy Calendar is pretty easy to set and plan your day. It allows you to create new events with 3 taps, edit with 2 taps. With a focus on simplicity and entry speed, the designer regarded anything beyond time and description, such as participators and location as optional. If to you they’re necessary, you can change the settings and make them available. It also provides a unique continuous-scrolling three weeks view. But sometimes the past events just disappear.

5. Supercal 2 – the Super Calendar

  • Developer: DEVARTsupercal2 logo
  • Price: $1.99
  • Device Support: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
  • Language Support: English, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish

Supercal is not as popular as previous ones, but it’s also a very user-friendly calendar app with a beautiful design. Besides the features such as opening location in Google Maps, share functions, I really like the setting that you can make your week start any day of the week. It provides 10 language options, from which I finally found Chinese. It also has an excellent representation of busy day and week views with overlapping events. Forgot to mention this: you can set up to 10 alerts per event!

6. daily – the list of things to do TODAY

  • Developer: Marek Ekesdaily logo
  • Price: $0.99
  • Device Support: iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
  • Language Support: English, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish

Daily is a little bit different from the tradition big calendar apps. Sometimes we’ll feel frustrated when we see the large to do list on our calendar, thus never start working at all. Now you need Daily! This new iOS app only shows the tasks you have to do today while the others are waiting in silence. If you finish all the tasks for today, just click the “end day” button and start enjoying the rest of the day! No complicated folder structures, no haunting notifications, no red badges on the icon. If you are looking for a long-term planner, this is not the app for you. But if you want to get encouraged to be productive everyday, Daily with an activity pop-up on your “today list” can be your best choice.
